We are writers! We are where you are–struggling through the journey of writing and publishing. We get disappointed at rejection, distracted by social media, and disillusioned with the tedious process of getting published. We have written for days on end, and have given up all together. And yet, we still find ourselves drawn to the keypad. Sometimes–many times–we need help getting there. A sign in the universe to tell us we aren’t awful writers; we aren’t failures. Failure is a bump in the process, not a destination. At WriterFairys we want to inspire writers to continue on with their writing journey. It is our hope we bring articles and information that keeps writers engaged in the process, embracing their challenges, and empowered to continue to create.
Who Are We
Elizabeth Conte: I am an Upmarket/Women’s Fiction Writer and Poet, Creating beauty for the mind! My goal is to bring what I love about 19th century literature…deep characters, true romance, beautiful imagery, meaningful dialogue, and rich stories that linger in the heart…and bring that to the 21st century reader. I have written three novels, a collection of poems, and find myself dabbling in short stories in between. You can see some of my work in Lost Coast Review and PennWriters, as well as my numerous thoughts on writing and life at Writerdeeva.com. I was a regular contributor to Women’s Fiction Writers Association’s, Industry News, and had my own column in OCWriters.com called called Girl On Writing before I set out to create WriterFairys, to inspire writers through the writing process.
Jan Draper: Literary fiction speaks to me. After writing three romance novels, I found my unique voice in women’s fiction. Weaving stories that entertain and plunge the reader into the lives of memorable characters is my goal. I gravitate towards exploring family struggles-the ebb and flow we all experience. Life is both tragic and glorious. Finding the fine lines between the two in braided stories is this writers desire.
Currently I’m on a wild ride to publishing my novel Where Our Lives Intersect, which you can follow on Facebook at Jan Draper Writes. You’ll find my musings at Jandraper.com as well as Medium.com. I’m most proud of helping other writers discover their voice through a county-wide library program that encourages and teaches.
Eons ago when I edited software manuals in a tight cubicle, I dreamed of writing my own words. I wish I had WriterFairy back then! Where ever you are on your journey WriterFairy can be the spark that lights the way beyond the hurdles only writers experience.
